Kate Sheldon - Parent Governor and Chair of Governors

Kate previously worked for 14 years within education, as a teacher in the state sector and then as a manager in the private sector, and is currently working part-time, supporting the Kumon Study Centre in Bradley Stoke with communications and PR.

Kate served as a community governor at BSCS for seven years and was elected as parent governor at Meadowbrook in 2015.  She has two children at the school.

Kate is currently Chair of the Local Governing Committee at Meadowbrook Primary School, as well as being the link governor for English. Kate is passionate about developing a life-long love of reading for all children.

Andy Wynn - Parent Governor and Vice-Chair of Governors

Andy was elected as a Parent Governor in January 2017.  He is the Centre Manager of the Willowbrook Centre and his step-son is a pupil at Meadowbrook School.

Andy feels that his skills and expertise, particularly in business management, marketing and finance can be of benefit to the school.  He is the link governor for EYFS and Sports Premium.

 Rachel Howell - Community Governor

Rachel was appointed as a Community Governor in September 2017.  She has worked within the NHS for over 35 years where her role as a clinical psychologist has not only included working with patients, but managing a small team within a huge institution.  She is also a qualified performance coach.

Rachel says: "I believe we owe it to our children to try to provide them with the very best chance to lead a happy, healthy and fulfilled life. A good primary school has an essential part to play in developing firm foundations which is what attracts me to a school like Meadowbrook."

Rachel is the link governor for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

Kim Rivers - Community Governor

Kim was appointed as a community governor in May 2015.  She qualified as a solicitor more than 30 years ago and specialises in family law; she has been on the Law Society's Children's Panel since 1993, which means she has specific expertise in representing children in court when they are subject to any application made by the Local Authority or where there are inter-familial disputes.

Kim has a particular interest in safeguarding and child protection issues, and is the Safeguarding link governor.  She has two adult sons and missed the contact she had with their school, and feels that the time is right for her to use her experience and interests within Meadowbrook School, working as an effective governor.

Jenny Thompson - Community Governor

Jenny was appointed as a Community Governor in September 2018.  She has been involved with the school for a number of years, as a parent to two children who were at Meadowbrook and have now moved on to secondary school.  Over their time in school, Jenny volunteered in school and was active in the Parents' Forum.  Jenny hopes to put her experience of Meadowbrook to good use and continue to support the school in her role as Community Governor.

Jenny also works as a volunteer with the Woodcraft folk, a children's organisation, which runs weekly groups and camping for young people, and this has given her practical experience of working with groups of children, as well as experience in other valuable areas such as safeguarding, risk assessing and planning trips.

Jenny is the Link Governor for Pupil Premium.

Lisa Williams - Parent Governor

Lisa has 1 child currently at Meadowbrook and her other three children are now students at BSCS.  She is the link governor for Maths.  Lisa is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor and is currently on a career break.

She brings to the governing body her time, enthusiasm and business experience to help collectively support the school achieve ongoing success.  Lisa is keen to ensure all children have the opportunity to achieve their full potential in a stimulating learning environment.
