In April 2013, the Department of Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport announced new funding of £150 million to support the delivery of PE and school sport.
This funding was allocated to help schools to improve the quality of Sport and PE provision for all their pupils alongside the freedom to choose how they do this.
PE and Sport are extremely important to us as a school so we are thrilled to be able to use this funding to inspire all our children, regardless of ability and to provide a lasting, sustainable and positive affect on PE and Sport within school and our community.
We strongly believe in the health, social and emotional benefits of high quality Sport and PE for all our children and believe that the enhanced provision and enriched PE and sport programme that the Sports Premium funding is helping us to provide will ensure maximum impact on learning both in and beyond the school environment.
We have used documents published by Ofsted and the DfE (below) to support us in assessing and auditing our provision for PE and Sport and in identifying how to spend our PE and School Sport Premium effectively.
For more information on how we have spent our Sports Premium funding and the positive impact of the provision on all the children at Meadowbrook Primary School please have a look at the documents below.
