Welcome to our school website and Meadowbrook Primary School. If you are new to the area I would also like to welcome you to the town of Bradley Stoke. It is a great place to work, because our families have wonderful children, and a fantastic place to raise a family and educate children.

In January 2015 we joined the Olympus Academy Trust. It was an important step on our journey to make Meadowbrook Primary School a world class school. Our choice to join Olympus was as important a decision as yours could be to join our school as a staff member or to choose our school for your child. It was about delivering our mission to ensure we are Inspiring Successful Learners. The vast majority of our children leave to join the Olympus secondary schools Bradley Stoke Community School and Abbeywood Community School. We make sure children leave us at 11 ready to secure secondary success.

We had worked in the previous year with our children, parents and staff to define the key values that we aim to shape our school’s future. We named those as Passion, Community and Ambition. We also agreed the expectations we have of all the children and adults who are a part of our school community. We expect to see Effort, Responsibility and Challenge.

We believe that;

Our passion grows out of effort
Our community grows out of responsibility
Our ambition grows out of challenge

The results of our expectations have been seen in the successes our children have brought us in the last academic years. These weren’t just our very good Year 6 test results in 2015 but our success in other areas of learning. Our quality on the sports field was reflected in our Gold School Games award in 2015 and the many great sports performances of our boys and girls during the year.

Our exciting curriculum was mirrored by achievements such as the Science Gold Quality Mark and our school being named as winners of the UK wide 2015 School Award at the British Wildlife Photography Awards. In 2016 we have continued in our role as the Bristol Apple Regional Training Centre. This training responsibility reflects our innovative blending of iPads into our children’s learning.

I would like to extend an invitation to you to come and visit us if you have never seen our classes at work and our children’s focus on high standards. Our children believe in themselves and confidently lead their own learning. It has been a privilege for me to lead this school since 2007 on our road to excellence. I hope you will decide to join us on that journey.

You can also hear more about our school from the children themselves.......
